David Ndzi is the Head of Computing and Professor of Wireless Communication Systems at the University of the West of Scotland. His research focuses on wireless communications and signal propagation. In recent years, he has worked extensively in wireless communication-enabled systems applying artificial intelligence to solve problems.

Ndzi was a Senior Lecturer and Principal Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth since 1999. He was also the International Coordinator (Associate Dean International) for the Faculty of Technology at the University of Portsmouth for 10 years before joining the University of the West of Scotland as Assistant Dean International.

Based on his work on rain modelling and prediction in Europe, Ndzi has been working with institutions in Malaysia to develop rain and flood prediction systems for tropical climates. The focus is to ameliorate the lack of accurate wide-area weather prediction systems due to high-intensity localised and rapidly varying rain patterns that often have catastrophic consequences. Due to climate change, historic weather patterns cannot be relied upon and hence part of the research focuses on real-time adaptive forecasting using low-cost instruments. His work in Malaysia is mainly in collaboration with the University of Malaysia Perlis.
