David Schultz

David Schultz is a Hamline University Professor of Political Science who teaches across a wide-range of American politics classes including public policy and administration, campaigns and elections, health care policy, environmental policy, and government ethics. He is also a professor of law at the University of Minnesota where he teaches election law, constitutional law, legal ethics, and administrative law, and an adjunct professor in the School of Community and Public Affairs, Binghamton University, and an adjunct professor of law at the University of Saint Thomas.

A three-time Fulbright scholar who has taught extensively in Europe and Asia, and the winner of the national Leslie A. Whittington award for excellence in public affairs teaching, David is the author of more than 45 books and 200+ articles on various aspects of American politics, election law, and the media and politics. His most recent books are Constitutional Precedent in US Supreme Court Reasoning (2022), Handbook of Election Law (2022), Presidential Swing States (2022), and Constitutional Law in Contemporary America (2017).
