Julius Silver Professor, Department of Politics, New York University

David Stasavage is Julius Silver Professor in the Wilf Family Department of Politics at New York University. He previously held positions at the London School of Economics and at Oxford University. His work has spanned a number of different fields and currently focuses on two areas: development of state institutions over the long run and the politics of inequality. Professor Stasavage's most recent book is entitled Taxing the Rich: A History of Fiscal Fairness in the United States and Europe. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
