Professor of Clinical Neurology, UCL

David is Professor of Clinical Neurology at UCL Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at University College Hospital and The National Hospital, Queen Square. He trained in medicine at Guy's hospital and in neurology in London including The Maudsley Hospital, King's College Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital, and the National Hospital.

Prof Werring contributes to delivering hyper-acute, acute and outpatient stroke care. He runs a specialist outpatient service for patients with cerebral small vessel disease and a one-stop intracranial haemorrhage clinic at Queen Square with same-day neuroimaging, neuropsychological assessment, specialist nurse and consultant opinions. Prof Werring is a member of the Association of British Neurologists Stroke Special Interest Group, Chair of the European Stroke Organisation Educational Committee, Deputy Secretary of the British Association of Stroke Physicians, member of the Stroke Intercollegiate Guideline Working Group and on the Editorial Board of the European Stroke Journal.
