Professor of Informatics, Computing and Engineering, Indiana University

David Wild is an entrepreneur, researcher, practitioner, educator and author in artificial intelligence, data science, drug discovery, cybersecurity & privacy, and emergency response & management. He is Professor in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at Indiana University. There he has founded and directed research initiatives and educational programs including the Integrative Data Science Laboratory (IDSL), the IU Data Science Program, the IU Cheminformatics PhD Program, the Crisis Technologies Innovation Lab (CTIL), and the First Responder Smart Tracking (FRST) Challenge. He has founded several companies including Data2Discovery, a company solving complex problems with an advanced stack of scalable graph technologies, AI and machine learning; and Konnex.AI, a company providing AI solutions for emergency management. He is helping lead a new startup incubator called RedLab.AI. His current research interests include generative AI, crisis technologies, digital resilience, integrative data science, data privacy, security and ethics, and biomedical data science. He recently authored The Personal Digital Resilience Handbook. He has over 100 research publications, and is founding editor of the Journal of Cheminformatics. He has been PI or CoPI on over $15m in funding. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and is trained in Emergency Management.
