Davide Vespasiani

Post-doctoral researcher, The University of Melbourne

Dr. Davide Vespasiani is a post-doctoral researcher fascinated by the (epi)genetic mechanisms controlling gene expression in humans. He undertook his PhD at Melbourne Integrative Genomics at the University of Melbourne, where, under the supervision of Dr. Irene Gallego Romero, he studied the contribution of archaic hominin DNA to gene expression variation among present-day Papuans. He is currently based at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne, Australia, where he is investigating how gene expression changes during hematopoiesis across vertebrates.
