Dr. Dawn M. Dow is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She received a PhD in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and also earned a JD from Columbia University, School of Law. Dow's research examines intersections of race, class and gender within the context of the family, educational settings, the workplace, the law and political mobilization. Her work has been published in journals including Gender & Society, Journal of Marriage and Family and Sociology of Race & Ethnicity.
