PhD candidate, History, Deakin University

My research interests are multiculturalism, religious performances, materiality, and early encounters between Indigenous and colonial representatives, primarily in nineteenth-century Pacific societies. My Bachelor of Arts (Hons) thesis was completed at Deakin University in 2018. It is titled 'Imaginative Sketches: How expedition sketch maps represent the cultural work of both indigenous intermediaries and colonial emissaries'.
My PhD thesis is tentatively titled 'Accepting change: how is culture conceptualised and performed in intercultural spaces.'
