Debbie Pullinger

Research Associate, The Poetry and Memory Project, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge

Debbie Pullinger is a Research Associate in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, and a Research Fellow of Wolfson College. She works on The Poetry and Memory Project, a three-year interdisciplinary project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, which is investigating experiences of poetry learning, and examining the relationships between memorisation, recitation and understanding.

Debbie worked in teaching and publishing, and as a writer and book editor before returning to Academia in 2009. Having completed a PhD on orality and textuality in poetry written for children, she now also teaches on children’s literature courses, and continues to pursue research interests in poetry written for children, orality and textuality, and cognitive poetics.
