I am a historian of American Jews, specializing in urban Jewish history of the 20th century. I have written three books that form a trilogy: At Home in America: Second Generation New York Jews, GI Jews: How World War II Changed a Generation, and To the Golden Cities: Pursuing the American Jewish Dream in Miami and L.A.
