Deborah Woodcock

Research Scientist, Clark University

My field is vegetation and climate. Much of my research focuses on fossil wood and paleoenvironmental reconstruction based on fossil wood. A long-term project is the study of a 39-million-year-old fossil site in northern Peru in conjunction with researchers in the US and Peru. I am also interested in forest ecology and history and have recently been collaborating with colleagues at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo on problems relating to the algorrobo (Prosopis) forests in the north of Peru.
