I've studied copulatory systems since 1995. Over the past 25 years, I've determined how the collagen architecture of mammalian and turtle penises help stiffen them during erection, described the permanently erect spring-loaded phallus of crocodylians, traced reproductively-relevant neural circuits in the mammalian brain, and examined male/female copulatory 'fit' in cetaceans.
