Over the past 25 years, I've determined how the collagen architecture of mammalian and turtle penises help stiffen them during erection, described the permanently erect spring-loaded phallus of crocodylians, traced reproductively-relevant neural circuits in the mammalian brain, and examined male/female copulatory 'fit' in cetaceans.
