Dirk Schmeller is a CNRS research director (senior researcher) and holder of the Chair of Functional Mountain Ecology at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Toulouse (ENSAT). He nears 30 years of research experience in the field of conservation biology. Over the years, his research has constantly developed and allowed him to innovate, establish and study new contexts with the aim of protecting nature and biodiversity. His scientific expertise includes population genetics and biology, evolutionary ecology, applied ecology, behavioural ecology, ecological epidemiology, and research in functional ecology.
