Dominic Lees’s research looks at deepfakes and AI, examining their impact on the creative screen industries. He co-edited a special issue of the journal 'Convergence' on deepfakes and has published academic articles on the subject as well as writing for the British Film Institute’s 'Sight and Sound'. In 2022, the UK parliament published Lees’s written evidence on deepfakes to the House of Lords. He has a professional background as a TV/ film director with work including multiple episodes of drama series, and the award-winning indie feature, 'Outlanders' (2008).
