Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Technology Sydney

Ms Donna Murray is a proud Wiradyuri and Wonnarua nation citizen with kinship ties across the Murrumbidgee and Hunter valley, NSW. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce peak organisation.

Donna was a recipient of the 2021 Pro Bono Impact Awards in recognition of her contributions to social change and continues to provide strong strategic leadership across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs and the wider health sector. Donna has formal qualifications in community development, management and Indigenous governance and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors bringing over 25 years’ experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and governance, Indigenous health, community development and engagement.

Donna is actively involved in the education sector as an Adjunct Associate Professor (Industry) at the University of Technology Sydney and an Associate appointment at James Cook University, Center for Rural and Remote Health. She is a current Director on Gayaa Dhuwi (Proud Spirit) Australia, the national peak organisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and suicide prevention and the Chairperson of Thirrili Ltd a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postvention service.

Donna works closely with key stakeholders and community participating on several national and state committees focused on workforce development, cultural safety and health policy development.

She has a genuine commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through supporting cultural priorities and aspirations for families and communities. Donna is actively engaged in strengthening Wiradyuri and Wonnarua nation building and the revitalisation of Wiradyuri language as a member of the Budyaan Wiradyuri Language Trust.
