Dorrie Chetty is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Course Leader for the BA Combined (Hons) Sociology and Criminology programme. Her research, writing and teaching relates to issues of migration, gender, race and social inclusion.
Dorrie is currently building a network between academics and non-governmental organisations working in the area of migration, immigration and social cohesion.
He research interests cover integration, social cohesion and migrant Voices, as well as media representations of migration and immigration. She looks at human rights vs securitization and Border Control, as well as memory, Identity and transition in the writing of British immigrations.
She also researches tourism, gender and development.
