Douglas B. Harris, Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University, is professor of political science at Loyola University Maryland. He is co-author of The Austin-Boston Connection: Fifty Years of House Democratic Leadership (Texas A&M University Press, 2009) and Choosing the Leader: Leadership Elections in the House of Representatives (Yale University Press, 2019) and co-editor of Doing Archival Research in Political Science (Cambria Press, 2012) and The Democratic Party: Documents Decoded and The Republican Party: Documents Decoded (both with ABC-CLIO, 2014). His most recent book, At War with Government: How Conservatives Weaponized Distrust from Goldwater to Trump, was co-authored with Amy Fried and published by Columbia University Press.
