I am an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist having worked in a variety of sectors including Higher Education, NHS, Charity Organisations and Palliative Care settings alongside independent practice. I am Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have an Honors degree in Applied Psychology and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
I current work with Glasgow Caledonian University, teaching on the Practitioner Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. My role as the Stage One Co-Ordinator and Lecturer includes the delivery of teaching and assessment for doctoral trainees, supervising research projects and support trainees in their professional practice. I have a specialist interest in attachment theory, therapeutic relationship and maternal mental health.
I have experience in working with a wide variety of mental health difficulties ranging from anxiety and depression to eating disorders, trauma, self harm and suicidal ideation. I have experience in working with young people, adults, older adults, couples and families. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person Centred Therapy amongst others.
