Associate Professor of Criminology and Human Rights, Swansea University

Dr Rick Lines is Associate Professor of Criminology and Human Rights at Swansea University, where he is co-Director of the Global Drug Policy Observatory. He has been described as ‘a key figure in the emerging field of human rights and drug policy’ and is author of ‘Drug Control and Human Rights in International Law' (CUP, 2017). Rick is the former Executive Director of Harm Reduction International (2010-2018) and of the Irish Penal Reform Trust (2003-2007), and is co-founder of the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy at the University of Essex.
