Ed is Honorary Fellow, Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR), ANU, Sessional Lecturer, School of the Built Environment UNSW, Adjunct Fellow, The Australia Institute, Associate and Special Adviser, SGS Economics and Planning, LGiU Australia Associate, and Director, Planning Integration Consultants Pty Ltd

Ed's current research interests include:

. native title rights and interests, statutory land rights regimes and conventional land tenure systems;

. land use planning and the accommodation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples rights, interests, needs, values and aspirations;

. land use planning and emergency planning and managent, especially in remote Indigenous communities;

. Canberra's unique planning history and land tenure system;

. local government restructurung and reform.
