Lecturer in English, The Open University

I am a Lecturer in English at The Open University. My current research lies in the area of reading and book circulation during the First World War. In 2015, I co-edited (with Shaf Towheed) the essay collection Reading and the First World War: Readers, Texts, Archives (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015), and I am currently working on a book about the reading and writing cultures of First World War British prisoners of war.

Outside of First World War Studies, I maintain an active research programme in Shakespeare studies, the histories of reading and authorship, and the digital humanities.
