Associate Professor of Politics, Rhodes University

Eduard Jordaan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political and International Studies at Rhodes University where he teaches courses in Political Philosophy and International Relations. His main research interest is in the human rights foreign policies of developing countries.

He is the author of the recent book, South Africa and the UN Human Rights Council: The Fate of the Liberal Order (Routledge, 2020). For the South African Institute of International Affairs, he recently edited a report assessing the voting patterns of African states at the Human Rights Council in 2017 and wrote a report on the same subject based on developments in 2018. His upcoming report covering 2019’s voting patterns will be published by SAIIA in the coming months.
