Professor and Director, International Development, Community, and Environment, Clark University

I have more than 20 years' experience working across academia and policy on issues of climate change and development. My academic qualifications include more than 70 publications on these topics with more than 3500 citations, and over $2 million in sponsored research funding. My experience goes well beyond the academic. I have also held numerous policy and implementation positions, including my current role as Panel Member for Climate Change Adaptation on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel of the Global Environment Facility and Lead Author for Working Group II of the current IPCC Assessment Report. I have also held climate change-related positions at USAID (including policy advisor to an Obama appointee) and served as an author for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment and the Fourth Global Environment Outlook.
