Edward R Jenkins

Instructor of Accounting, Penn State

Ed is a seasoned business executive and educator possessing an extensive background in tax, manufacturing and business. His experience includes more than 30 years in the accounting profession. He has the distinction of being an alumnus of three of the remaining “Big 4” CPA firms. The first eight years of his experience was as an auditor in public accounting and as a controller of a NYSE listed company. His remaining experience was gained in taxation; including employment as a tax manager for another NYSE listed manufacturer, the head of a tax department in a mid-sized CPA firm, a “Big 4” tax consultant, and more recently as a Consultant in Tax at Boyer & Ritter, LLC. Ed is fortunate to be able to combine the audit and tax experience to provide substantial strength in ASC 740 tax provisions.

With substantial experience as a business writer he is blessed with opportunities to regularly write for publication. He chaired the PICPA's CPA Journal Editorial Board for the 2013-2015 cycle and he chairs the PICPA Federal Tax Committee for the 2014-2016 cycle. Effective in June of 2015, he is a member of the PICPA Board of Directors. He formerly served the AICPA on the International Tax Technical Resource Panel.

Ed is thrilled to help build students of excellence in accounting and tax at the Smeal College of The Pennsylvania State University, while staying current in his profession at Boyer & Ritter, LLC!!
