Research pursuits continue to be how societal and organizational change is driven by a failure of adaptive cultures, structures, systems and the resultant dysfunctional workplace climates. Published studies include triggers of public protest, causes of workplace disengagement and emotional distress. Research on change management published in peer reviewed journals and book chapters. Thirty years research, publication and application of how public protests and activism change society. Served for 20 years as Director of Research & Analysis BC-Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), plus two years National Director of Research and Analysis, national RCMP Change Management Project. Provided consulting services to U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Have completed over 500 national workplace employee and community public safety surveys and analyses involving over 15,000 employees. Previous service as Associate Deputy Minister, Premier's Office, Government of BC, head of Public Affairs Bureau and advisor to Cabinet and Policy and Priorities Committee of Cabinet.

Continue doing research consulting projects for both public and private sector with academic partners including the correlation between workplace culture, structure and systems and the impact on employee engagement and support for change. Involved with an academic team (Simon Fraser university, Canada) in conducting community quantitative and qualitative studies on factors related to public order, fear of crime, and effectiveness of organizational cultures, structures, systems, and workplace climates in addressing community expectations within a changing social, economic, and technological environment.

Private sector experience includes partner and vice-president of international management consulting firm with clients in North America, Asia, and South America.

PhD in Human and Organizational Systems (Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara California, dissertation on public order policing)), Masters Degree in Leadership (Royal Roads University, Victoria, BC, Canada). Recipient of 2022 Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award, University Canada West, recipient of three national RCMP awards for issues management and environmental scanning plus the Howard Chase international award for excellence in issues management (presented in Washington D.C.).
