Elisabet Englund

Associate Professor in Clinical Neuropathology, Lund University

Elisabet Englund is a senior consultant and associate professor in Clinical Neuropathology, Lund, Sweden.

She has more than 35 years' experience of research in the field of cognitive disorders/dementia and on vascular-ischemic brain lesions/stroke. Other areas of research focus are cardiac arrest encephalopathy and gliomas.

Elisabet is responsible for the teaching of Neuropathology for all medical students in southern Sweden as well as for para-medical students.

She works clinically within almost all fields of neuropathology, including surgical pathology of brain tumours, brain infections and epilepsy, also muscle and peripheral nerve, including small fibre pathology. In addition, the clinical work includes a work-up of close to 100 brains per year, investigating neurocognitive disorders/dementia, stroke, infections and many less prevalent diseases.
