Elizabeth A. Regan

Dept. Chair Integrated Information Technology and Professor of Health Informatics, University of South Carolina

I have spent most of my career working in the domain of IT-based innovation and systems engineering (organizational change) in both industry and academe. I am currently a professor of health informatics and chair of the Integrated Information Technology Department in the College of Engineering and Computing, University of South Carolina. For the past 20 years, my work has focused on healthcare transformation—both in research and implementation. Current research interests are health IT, innovation, and organizational transformation. My research has been supported by major grants from the National Science Foundation, HRSA, The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Innovation Grant, and the U.S. Department of Education. I am lead author on two college texts on end-user information systems and have published and presented my research in numerous national and international forums. I currently serve on the board of directors of Kentucky RHIO and South Carolina Chapte of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) and also served two years on the national HIMSS innovation committee.
