Emma Frans

Emma Frans has a PhD in epidemiology, is a researcher at Karolinska Institutet and previously at the University of Oxford. As a science communicator, she has received the Swedish grand prize for journalism and Public educator of the year, and she is often heard and seen on TV and radio - not least during the COVID-19 pandemic. Emma writes columns for Svenska Dagbladet and she has published four books, including one about the first year of the pandemic.

In her research, she is currently studying how the pandemic has affected mental health in Sweden and five other countries within the COVIDMENT project.
