Emma Hammarlund

I explore Earth history and the rise of animals. My main tools are geology, geochemistry and fossils, but also biology including, since recently, tumors. Tumors continuously manage to take the leap from unicellularity to multicellularity and I try to listen in to what cell mechanisms they exploit for this leap. In this academic pursuit, I also think about how to think, or how we can best harvest brainpower. Therefore, I have researched our biases, how we risk to implicitly characterize the world and thoughts, and means to adress these thought patterns. I have some experience to write about my research for the general public.
