Eric Lacey is senior lecturer in English Language at the University of Winchester. His research lies at the intersections of history, linguistics and literature, and are largely oriented around the ways in which people perceived and rationalised their experiences and their environment. He has published recently on the heightened importance of sound in early medieval culture, on some of the earliest superstitious beliefs in Winchester, and on the overlaps between biological and linguistic theory.
