Erla Thrandardottir

Erla's PhD thesis explored the internal legitimacy of three leading NGOs (Amnesty, Cafod and Greenpeace) and the power relations between the national and international offices of their global networks. She has published on NGO legitimacy, legality, and trust in journals including Representation, Voluntas, British Journal of Politics and IR, International Politics, as well as with Practical Action.

Erla’s current research focuses on the legitimacy of NGOs in India, China, and the UK.
