Dr. Evan A. Simons is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Buffalo Human Evolutionary Morphology Lab in the Anthropology Department at the University at Buffalo in New York. He received his PhD in Biological Anthropology at the University of Oregon in 2019. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and is largely focused on the evolution of skull shape in humans and their closest relatives (non-human apes, such as gorillas and chimpanzees, and Old-world monkeys, such as baboons). He has also done paleontological fieldwork searching for fossils of human ancestors in Kenya and Ethiopia.
