Evangelos Kyriakidis

Senior Lecturer in Aegean Prehistory, University of Kent

Dr Evangelos Kyriakidis is the founding director of the Heritage Management Organization and has also held the position of Senior Leventis Research Fellow in Heritage Management at the University of Kent.

Trained at University College London and at Cambridge in classical archaeology, linguistics and anthropology, and having raised £7M for heritage management projects, Evangelos has been the sole external expert in the only committee for the management of monuments in Greece, a member of the Subject Committee for Archaeology in the UK, a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and of the Archaeological Society of Athens, and a visiting professor at UCLA.

Evangelos has research interests in Mycenaean administration, Minoan religion and iconography, as well as ritual theory. He is also interested in the history of archaeological thought and in archaeological site management and planning.
