Ezinne M. Ezepue is a lecturer of film at the Department of Theatre & Film Studies, University of Nigeria.

She has a BA in Theatre & Film Studies (Nigeria), an MA in Film and TV (Birmingham) and a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies (Birmingham). Her PhD study interrogated Nollywood’s transformations as gentrification.

Her current research spans through film, media, communication and cultural studies with special focus on how emerging cultural industries develop, formalize and gentrify. Her other research interests are in reality television and documentary film production.

She is interested in film content analysis and the representations of the Nigerian woman in film/television. She hosts a research group that is focused on creating stories that are truly African in content and representation. She is published in both local and international journals and has book chapters to her credit.
