After a Ph.D. in Statistics at Université de Montréal, a post-doctoral experience at the department of Human Genetics at McGill University, F. Larribe became a professor of Statistics at UQAM. He is teaching statistics, statistical genetics, stochastic processes to students in statistics and biology. His research field is statistical genetics, and the main research theme is fine genetic mapping that is related to tracking the mutation or variant responsible for a condition, like a disease. Fabrice was the first one to have used the ancestral recombination graph in order to perform such mappping. He is also a dedicated mentor to many successful graduate students.
