Dr Farjam Eshraghian is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Business in the school of Applied Management, Westminster Business School (WBS). Since starting his full-time role in WBS, in addition to supervising PhD and postgraduate students, he has been leading the following modules: Digital Business Fundamentals (Level 5) and Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (Level 7). Since 2023, he has also led MSc Digital Business course.
Farjam holds a PhD in Technology and Information Management from the University of Edinburgh. He also has a background in Technology Management (M.B.A) and Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.). Before joining the Westminster Business School, during the period of doing his PhD, he organised and lectured Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS) and Supply Chain Management (MIS) modules at the University of Edinburgh School of Engineering as a contracted lecturer. Additionally, he had different roles as a teaching and research assistant in a variety of modules and research projects at the University of Edinburgh Business School. He has also obtained his PGCert in Higher Education (PGCHE) from Queen Mary, University of London and is recognised as a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Farjam’s main research focus is on (1) understanding of emotional response to AI in work and organisations, (2) platformisation of technology dominance, (3) data analytics, (4) social studies of technology and finally, (5) organisational perception of data quality. His papers have appeared in the journal of Information Technology & People (ABS 3), International Journal of Human Resource Management (ABS 3) and the journal of International Journal of Human Resource Management (ABS 2). His work was also presented in multiple prestigious conferences the annual meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM), the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) conference, European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), British Academy of Management (BAM) and UK Academy of Information Systems (UKAIS). He also served as a reviewer for several journals and conferences including the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), the journal of Information Technology & People, the journal of Studies in Higher Education and the journal of Strategy and Management.
Prior to joining academia, Farjam had three years of professional experience of working as an information systems developer and consultant in automotive, food manufacturing and healthcare industries. For example, he was part of a developer team in the largest Iranian vegetable oil manufacturing company that developed a bespoke warehouse management module and integrated it into the enterprise system.
