Filippo Dall'Osso

Researcher at the Natural Hazards Research Group, University of Sydney

After graduating in Environmental Science at the University of Bologna (Italy), I completed a PhD in Natural Hazards, while consulting for a private engineering company based in Ravenna (Italy). I moved to Australia in 2011, where I started my academic Career as a natural hazard researcher, initially at UNSW and now at the University of Sydney. I specialise in coastal hazards such as tsunamis and storms surges, under present and future sea level conditions. I am passionate about assessing the vulnerability to these events of exposed assets and communities. I am currently leading a project to increase the resilience to natural hazards of people with disabilities in NSW.
