I am an independent engagement specialist and a Professional Teaching Fellow in the School of Māori and Indigenous Education at the University of Auckland. I have worked with more than 80 organisations and diverse communities over 25 years. I was a former senior policy adviser on the Treaty of Waitangi for government and my doctorate considered the ethics and politics of Māori-Pākehā relations. My current interests include: relational ethics, bicultural practice, community storytelling, Pākehā identity, and Treaty of Waitangi studies.
