François Billaut

PhD, Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Physiology, Victoria University

Dr. Billaut graduated in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the Université du Sud Toulon-Var (Toulon, France). After spending 4 years in Canada as an Assistant Professor, he was appointed in the School of Sport and Exercise Science at Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia). He is interested in understanding the limits of human performance during high-intensity exercise. His research program covers themes such as muscle recruitment strategies, brain activity, and the effects of hypoxic environments. Dr. Billaut has published several papers in high-impact journals and talks regularly in national and international conferences. He also worked as Physiology Consultant for sports such as rugby, soccer, running and kayak.
