My research lies at the intersections of legal, political and social thought. I have published on topics ranging from judicial process, to styles of political representation, to conceptual forays into politics and the law. My current research falls under two general themes. The first examines the relations between dissenting activity and claims to political legitimacy; the second analyzes how mechanisms for dissent can aid institutions in overcoming the democracy deficits they may face.
