George Alex Thopil

Professor Thopil is an associate professor at the Department of Engineering & Technology Management (Graduate School of Technology Management), University of Pretoria. His expertise lies primarily in the area of sustainability studies, with focus on the energy, water and waste sectors.

He is a registered professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and also a Y rated researcher with the National Research Foundation, South Africa. He was the chair (from 2014-2017) of the Engineering Management Society, South Africa chapter.
