George Ferns is a lecturer in Management, Employment and Organization at Cardiff Business School. His research broadly concerns how organisations engage with issues surrounding the natural environment; focusing on topics such as corporate responses to climate change, corporate social responsibility, and environmental activism. Currently, George's research concerns three main areas:

The changing dynamics of work in a hypermodern society; focusing on gender issues, precarious work, and the rise of the gig economy.
George has published in academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Organization Studies, Business & Society, and Journal of Business Ethics. He has also contributed to several edited books and has published in The Conversation, Guardian and Stanford Social Innovation Review.
