Gerard de Kamper

Curator Collections, lecturer, PhD candidate, University of Pretoria

Gerard de Kamper is the collections manager and curator of the ceramics and art collections of the UP Museums at the University of Pretoria. He has completed two honours degrees, in archaeology and history, a postgraduate diploma in heritage and museum studies and a master’s degree with a focus on the history of collections at the university. With a curatorial career spanning more than 17 years, he holds several professional memberships and has curated over 30 major exhibitions and published several books on well-known South Africa artists such as Fanie Eloff, Edoardo Villa and Jacob Pierneef. He also serves on numerous heritage organisation committees.
