Gillian Mathys is a history post-doc at Ghent-University. Her work focuses on mobility, the historical trajectories of identities and territories; and the longue durée of violent conflicts in the 1960s. She has been doing fieldwork in and on the eastern Congo since 2009, and also did research in Rwanda.
