Dr Grace E. Shephard is an Earth scientist interested in how the outer shell and the deep interior of our planet has formed over millions of years.

Grace works as research scientist in geology and geophysics at the University of Oslo, and is hosted at the Norwegian Centre of Excellence - the Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED). She received her PhD from the University of Sydney as part of the EarthByte Group. In particular, Dr Shephard has a particular research and personal interest in the Arctic and polar regions. Grace was awarded Norwegian Research Council Young Researcher Talent funding for 2021-2025 for her project "POLARIS - the evolution of the Arctic in deep time." More broadly, Dr Shephard is also involved in education, outreach, early-career networking, and scientific visualization.
