Laureate Professor Emeritus, Graeme Clark led the team that developed the modern cochlear implant which can help profoundly deaf people.

Professor Clark won the 2013 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award.

The Lasker Awards, sometimes known as America's Nobel's, are among the most respected science prizes in the world, honouring researchers whose insight and perseverance make possible significant advances in preventing disease, reducing disability, and diminishing suffering.
