Professor of Mathematical Biology, University of Oxford

Professor Graham Taylor is Deputy Head of the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division at the University of Oxford. Trained as a biologist, and based in Oxford's Department of Biology, Graham works at the interface of biology, engineering, and natural/artificial intelligence. His research focuses on the guidance and control of flight in birds, insects, and bats, and its applications to computer vision, autonomous systems, and the design of the built environment. He has a particular interest in understanding how evolution tunes animals to learn and perform complex sensorimotor behaviours, and works closely with industry and government on bio-inspired applications.
