Grant Ferguson completed a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences at the University of Waterloo in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba with a focus in hydrogeology in 2004. He is a professor at the University of Saskatchewan with a joint appointment between the Department of Civil, Geological and Environmental Engineering and the School of Environment and Sustainability and a member of the Global Institute for Water Security. His research focuses on groundwater resources and the interface between water and energy. Grant Ferguson is the Vice President North America of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) .
