Guadalupe I. Lozano

Director, Center for University Education Scholarship, and Associate Reserach Professor of Mathematics, University of Arizona

My work brokers intersectional spaces for institutional innovation and change in university education, including transforming STEM education at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs). I am a founding member of the STEM in HSI Working Group at the University of Arizona, and serve as Director of the Center for University Education Scholarship (CUES) also at the University. Trained as a mathematician, I have been involved in numerous K-20 initiatives, including the writing/assessment of recommendations for implementing evidence-based practices, measuring mathematical knowledge, and the establishment of cross-institutional collaborations strengthening core undergraduate transitions in STEM. I am actively involved with local, national, and international organizations committed to growing equitable practices in public schools, higher education, and STEM professions.
