Associate Professor in Behavioural Decision Making, University of Leeds

My research is on judgement and decision making with special interest in food-related decision making, risk (benefit) perception and communication, and developing interventions.

I have been the principal and co-investigator on numerous externally funded projects related to food waste, including “Healthy soil, healthy food, healthy people”, “Using citizen science to explore plant breeding and investigate food-chain transparency for novel breeding methods”, “Reuse to reduce food waste: understand policy barriers preventing food upcycling” and “Capitalising on Covid-19 as a trigger for positive change in food waste behaviour”. I am an expert member of the European Consumer Food Waste Forum and Food and Agriculture Organization’s Working Group on Leveraging behavioural science to tackle food loss and waste.
